COLEGIO SÉNECA S.Coop.And (SÉNECA SCHOOL S.Coop.And.)

Our school was founded in 1982 in the city of Cordoba (Spain) and today has around 700 students.

Our students begin their stay at the Seneca School in the infant stage at the age of 3 and finish their compulsory education at the age of 16 in 4th ESO. This fact, together with the multitude of activities and programmes in which we participate, makes our students feel that the school is their own.

It is made up of a team of teachers, staff and services of approximately 50 people.

Our school includes Infant, Primary and Secondary Education, as well as Integration Support Classroom and Hearing and Language, within the Guidance Department.
The school has a dynamic spirit and we are involved in multiple schemes and projects:

- We are Eco-School, an ideal way for schools to reduce their ecological footprint, a change that inevitably leads to a more sustainable, less costly and more responsible school environment. In terms of our ecological commitment, we have been awarded the prestigious "Green Flag" award for our initiatives related to the protection of the environment.

- We cater for diversity. The Guidance Department, as a specialised team, has the ultimate aim of guaranteeing the comprehensive education of the pupils and facilitating attention to diversity by adapting the teaching processes according to individual needs and providing the necessary support to promote the maximum educational and social development of all, on an equal footing with others.

- We are a bilingual school. Our school provides bilingual education at Infant, EPO and ESO stages.

- We believe that sport is a very important subject in our school and we channel it through the Decorseneca club, with a wide programme of extracurricular activities, which helps our students in their physical and social development and their mental wellbeing.

- We are enterprising because we consider of vital importance the need to work cooperatively, to establish contact between the different educational stages and to continue innovating in our teaching work through the use of different resources.
- At our school we aim to offer a comprehensive education to girls and boys regardless of their gender. It is an education in equality and for equality, based on the fact of their gender difference, but without taking into account the roles that they are required to fulfil in a sexist society. We offer equal rights and opportunities for boys and girls with the absence of any discrimination.

- Our school follows the quality standards of the European System UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2008, certified for the first time in 2007-08 and extended every year. Since that date, we are committed to succeed in the annual review of all teaching and learning procedures, as well as those related to the improvement of our Co-operative, so we are exposed to annual audits.

In 2019 our Superhero project was awarded Best Educational Project in Spain by the Princess of Girona Foundation, developing the entrepreneurial talent of our students and involving the whole educational community, but also families and neighbours. Superhero focused on human values and inner individual potential (the hero within me) and personal relationships (the human aside).

Seneca School is a member of ACES (Andalusian Association of Social Economy Schools), which includes more than 100 schools in the region. Since 2016, ACES has awarded us the Seal of Educational Excellence, which recognises the quality of the school's management, offering families guaranteed services.
